Since factory floors are noisy, use Visual Cues so workers don’t have to shout or ask questions:
Floor Taping: Use Yellow for walkways, Red for scrap bins, and Green for finished rail products.
Labeling: Every rack should have a “Label Address” (e.g., Rack B, Shelf 4) that matches the digital inventory.
Color Coding: Use different colored bins for different aluminum alloys (e.g., 6061 vs. 6063) to prevent mixing scrap.
The “Set in Order” Challenge for the Course:
Ask yourself: “If we turned off all the lights and you had only a flashlight, could you find the safety glasses and the miter saw wrench in under a minute?”
If the answer is “No,” the station isn’t set in order yet.
